John Hutton MP Digs Cater-Kwik’s Wildlife Reserve

Barrow and Furness MP, John Hutton helped to dig the first sod to mark the start of a wildlife pond project.

Cater-Kwik Ltd are developing a nature pond behind their headquarters in Ulverston, Cumbria. Keen to put something back into the environment, Matthew Mayvers MD, wanted to involve local schools to help manage the project from the initial design through to the ongoing development. A competition was held for the children to come up with the best design and reasons why they would like to be involved.

Pupils from St Paul’s Primary School in Barrow were chosen to help. The pond will be designed for schools and organizations to observe and enjoy the wildlife.

Pictured helping Mr Hutton were children from Rascals Day Nursery, supported by some of Cater-Kwik’s team.
