The Merlin CT1750 Air Quality Control System is a gas proving and interlock system designed for use in commercial kitchens where solid fuel appliances and/or charcoal ovens or grills are used. The system is compatible with both current monitors and air pressure differential switches in order to interlock with up to 4 fans. The Merlin CT1750 also has the facility to cater for a Merlin Carbon Dioxide or, Carbon Monoxide Detector, allowing for additional safety within the work space. If dangerous CO2 levels are detected, the CT1750 has the ability to automatically increase the RPM of the fans to clear the gas and draw in fresh air.Being installed in a working environment that make use of solid fuel appliances, the CT1750 is essential. Coals and other fuel sources that are left to smoulder, there is the possibility that they will produce harmful carbon monoxide even after the appliance has finished being used. If carbon monoxide levels are detected the system will instantly boost the fans to full speed regardless if the system is switched OFF. Once the danger has been removed, the fans will return to their original RPM or OFF.
The proving system if installed in the CT1750 operates using a gas pressure transducer installed into the downstream port of the gas solenoid valve. This functions by detecting a drop in gas pressure, which could signify a gas leak. To test the integrity of the gas pressure, the system performs a test for 30 seconds. If a leak is present the panel will show "test fail" and the solenoid valve will remain closed, if there are no leaks present, the panel will show "Gas on" and the solenoid valve will open for use once again.
